March 2013 Newsletter

Welcome to Spring!

March is a busy month with two unique holidays for us to celebrate – St. Patrick’s Day and Easter (March 31st this year).

For St. Patrick’s Day we are celebrating with our cheese of the month – Irish Cahill Porter.  Also watch for some additional Irish cheeses as well as a few other traditional treats for the holiday.

For Easter we are offering our traditional Easter menu which contains a variety of treats and sweets that are excellent additions to your holiday celebration.  Menus will be available in the store or on our website.

Wines of the Month:

Ca’ Momi Bianco Di Napa

Winemaker Notes:  From the Napa Valley in California this 2011 gold award winning blend has a diverse flavor profile with intense orange blossom and grapefruit on the nose.  The aromas of the nose echo in the mouth with perfect harmony existing between its alcohol and acidity.

Ca’ Momi Rosso Di Napa

Winemaker Notes:  From the Napa Valley in California this 2010 double gold award winning blend features bright strawberry and raspberry flavors with a velvety texture and full mouth feel.  Its round, medium-bodied and complex palate is loaded with fruit.

March Special: $10.95 per bottle or 2 for $19.90

Pasta of the Month:

Goat Cheese and Basil Ravioli – a flavorful combination.  Serve with a marinara sauce or with roasted tomatoes.

Pkg. of 12  $6.95

Cheese of the Month:

Irish Cahill Porter

Irish Cheddar Cheese with Porter Beer, Cahills Porter, is made by blending the cheddar curds with dark brown porter beer (brewed by Guinness), resulting in a beautiful outstanding marbled cheese. The flavor of porter beer alone is rather strong, but in combination with the cheddar, the beer flavor is mellowed and the cheese flavor is deepened. Made with vegetable rennet, this cheese is also for vegetarians.  This cheese is perfect as an hors D’Oeuvre when sliced and served with a tossed salad. It is equally as good when served as a centerpiece on a cheese board.  Also great for melting and pairing with fruit or beer.

March Special @ $14.95/lb.
