June 2012 Newsletter
Happy Father’s Day to all our Dads!
Come to Angela’s when planning your special Father’s Day cook-out. We offer a selection of grilling sauces, condiments, pasta salads, and of course our homemade sausages that are great on the grill.
Wine of the Month:
Casalini Pinot Grigio 2010, from Italy Winemaker Notes: Nickel straw color. Aromas of peppered melon, pistachio and lemon yogurt with a soft, dryish medium body and a smooth citrus zest and yellow apple accented finish. An easy-going sipping wine. Rated 88 points.
Elderton Shiraz 2004, from Australia
Winemaker Notes: Complex with structure, grip, wood, and power. This deep, chewy, peppery wine reveals blackberry and black cherry fruit with dusty, loamy soil notes in the background. Drink is over the next decade. Rated 90 points.
June Special: $11.95 per bottle or 2 for $21.90
Ravioli of the Month:
Caprese with fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and fresh plum tomatoes – wrapped in a red and green marbled pasta dough. This is a very versatile ravioli and can be used with a variety of sauces.
$6.50 per dozen
Cheese of the Month:
Chevretine – fresh goat’s milk feta
This goat feta is semi-firm and comes wrapped with a small amount of whey. From the Province of Poitou-Charmententes, the goat cheese capital of France, this is a handmade, artisanal cheese. The flavor is slightly sharp and not too “goaty”, unlike some other goat fetas. It finishes nicely with tart citric milkiness. A perfectd topping for salads, bruscetta, or even pizza.
May Special @ $12.95/lb.
