Wine of the Month:
Alysa Red from California
Winemaker Notes: This 2009 vintage is a blend combining old-world grape varietals and California sunshine. It starts with a core of 49% Madera Syrah and 2% organically grown Viognier. 37% Mendocino Grenache is added then the blend is topped off with 12% old vine Carignane. This wine has amazing flavors of berry and spice and is balanced and smooth with a long, lush finish.

Sweet Potato Ravioli – Roasted sweet potato filling with fresh basil, parsley, spices, and a blend of imported cheeses. Perfect as a side dish and exceptionally delicious with a butter, sage sauce or Alfredo sauce.

Recipe for the Month
Bean Pot Baked Beans – serves 10 -12
From Stonewall Kitchen
Ingredients –
5-16oz. cans pinto beans, well drained
4 strips cooked hickory smoked bacon, approximately ¼ cup crumbled
1 cup Stonewall Kitchen Country Ketchup*
½ cup maple syrup
½ cup onion, finely diced
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tsp. ground mustard powder
1 ½ tsp. salt
Directions –
- Pre-heat oven to 325°. Grease a 2-quart bean pot.
- Combine all of the ingredients; mix well and place in bean pot.
- Cook 1 ½ to 2 hours uncovered (cover if beans get too dry.
